Pursuant to the Notaries Code, Article 179, Amendment to the Public Registry's Fees Law, No. 4564,
Art. 3. Explanatory note and inscription: "All legal acts or contracts that
are registrable in the Public Registry should pay,
upon presentation, all corresponding fees, legal stamps and taxes, which
shall be paid through a voucher showing the appropriate payment in a bank".
Procedure
To simplify procedures, the Banco
de Costa Rica has made available for its customers or users the form "Information
for calculation of amount to pay in legal stamps 87-G" providing necessary
information for cost calculations, according to the following instructions:
• Please, mark with an X the Registry code to
be used
• Please indicate the number of the Code of
the Act to be carried out
If the act is marked with the letters TM, it has to
pay municipal legal stamps. If it is marked with the letters DGT 120 or 121,
it pays Tax Office fees.
• Please mark "Yes" in the form, and indicate
the amount to pay.
Note: the municipalities that are not in the system
are marked with an asterisk (*) (Acosta, Los Chiles, Guatuso,
Jiménez, Flores, Carrillo, La Cruz, Buenos
Aires, Osa, Golfito and Talamanca).
Banco de Costa Rica self-service
If you use self-service, please select the act 2406
option in the "next" box on the computer screen to display the calculation on
the screen.
To carry out this operation, simply enter the
information required in form 87-G, which is detailed in the procedure.
